Goodbye to Prof. Dr. Balázs Németh!

By February 18th, the DAAD visiting professorship of Prof. Balázs Németh (University of Pécs, Institute of Adult Learning and Education) at the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education at JMU ended. The entire staff and students would like to thank him for coming here and sharing his vast expertise with us.

During the semester, which went back and forth between hybrid teaching and online classes, Prof. Balázs Németh adapted quickly to the situations and readily accommodated to the changes. With his motivational energy, he kept both the students and the participants of his two workshops engaged and eager to participate.

As mentioned earlier, Prof. Németh organized two workshops during his stay, inviting some of the biggest names in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning, from policy makers to researchers to practitioners. These experts presented their knowledge and thoughts on topics such as the impact of the Grundtvig program on Adult Education as well as the changing role of international organizations. Needless to say, these events were correspondingly well attended.

Finally, it is safe to say, that Prof. Némeths expertise on historical and political aspects of Adult Education piqued the curiosity of the students as well as colleagues. This is reflected in the following comments on his stay:
