Outgoing Students

Application Procedure

Students at the University of Würzburg have the opportunity to study at one of our partner universities  or complete an internship in a partner country during their doctoral studies via the ERASMUS 171 project. Please note that the contracts with the partner universities are subject-specific. If you are interested, please contact the relevant subject coordinator.

Below you will find partner universities for which funding is also available for exchanges during the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. Please contact the departments and their websites for application and selection criteria. As part of the ERASMUS exchange, students do not have to pay tuition fees at the partner universities.

Please note that in addition to the KA 171 partner universities, there are other partner universities of the University of Würzburg within Europe and beyond. These can be found on the homepage of the International Office.

Participation Possibilities

Doctoral students have the opportunity to complete a subject-related mobility programme at the respective ERASMUS partner universities (duration: 5 days to 12 months). Please contact the respective subject coordinator regarding the currently available funds. To apply for an ERASMUS stay, the usual application deadlines apply, which you can find on the ERASMUS pages of your subject. If you are employed at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität during your doctorate, funding is also possible as part of a staff mobility programme.

For enrolled Bachelor's and Master's students at the Institute of Protestant Theology and Religious Education, SMS mobility funds are currently available for a stay at the University of Haifa in Israel. Information on the application deadline can be found on the ERASMUS pages of the Protestant Theology
SMS mobilities are possible as part of a Long-Term Student Mobility (duration: 2 to 12 months) or a Blended Mobility (5-30 days). Please note that you must acquire at least 3 ECTS credits for a blended mobility. The ERASMUS-Koordination at the partner University will support you in starting your study abroad programme.

In each study cycle (Bachelor's, Master's, doctorate) you can be funded for a maximum of 12 months in total via the ERASMUS programme. Funding is possible as soon as you are enrolled at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg.
