News at the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education
Winter Term 2024/25
After another exciting summer term, we are looking forward to the upcoming winter term 2024/25.
We are pleased to welcome Assoc. Prof. Mar Joanpere Foraster (Rovira i Virgili University, Tarragona, Spain) to the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education as part of a DAAD guest lectureship. She will hold various seminars in both the Bachelor's and Master's programmes: “Contributions from AE to science and society (Part 2)”, “Dialogic Model of Living Together in adult education”, “Dialogic Gathering of Adults”. She will also give a guest lecture on “Enhancing Wellbeing: The Transformative Effects of Adult Education on Participants' lives” on December 17th, 04:15-05:45 p.m. (CET). Further information on the events of our DAAD guest professor will be announced on our homepage.
We also welcome Dr. Clara Kuhlen to the professorship this semester. She completed her doctorate at the Chair of Adult and Continuing Education in 2020 and received the Wolfgang-Schulenberg-Prize for her dissertation entitled: “Differentiation Practices in Adult Education: A Situation Analysis of Diversity in Program planning”. This semester she will hold a seminar for the Master's course on the topic of “Contexts and theories of adult education/continuing education - continuing vocational training”
Prof. Dr. Dr. Heribert Hinzen (Former Director, DVV International, Honorary Fellow, UNESCO Institute of Lifelong Learning) also offers s also offering a Master's seminar this semester as a block seminar on the topic of “Lifelong Learning: international perspectives, policies and experiences”.
As in previous semesters, we kindly invite you to numerous guest lectures. You will find all our current events on our website and on social media as soon as the dates are fixed. They cover a wide range of topics and promise exciting insights into adult education and lifelong learning.
Most international events are creditable for the GSiK-certificate.
We are also looking forward to the third semester of our Double Degree Master's program. Most of the students are now back at the University of Würzburg for this semester.
Bachelor and Master students as well as doctoral candidates again have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of our partner universities and can apply for a scholarship. In addition, there is the possibility to apply for internships abroad at DVV International and its partner institutions in Georgia and the Palestinian Territories.
