On 21 November and 2 December 2024, two workshops on the topic of ‘AI in schools - perspectives from schools’ were successfully held at DigiMePäd, the teaching-learning laboratory of the ‘Media Education with References to Informatics’ network. The events were organised by the Chair of School Pedagogy and funded by the Competence Centre for Digital Teaching and Learning (DigiLLabs@JMU) as part of the 2024 funding round.

On September 20 and 27, 2024, Melanie Hartmann conducted a two-day professional development workshop for teacher educators on the use of social augmented reality with a focus on the needs of diverse learners as part of the WueDive pilot project “Virtual Environments” and the interdisciplinary project “ViLeArn_more”. The workshop took place at the Media Education and Educational Technology Lab (MEET@JMU).

On September 25,2024, in- and pre-service teachers participated in a professional development workshop focused on classroom management. During this event, they engaged in discussions about scenarios and respective approaches of action within educational settings. The workshop marked the beginning of the “Lehr:werkstatt” program for the 2024/25 academic year.

On June 14, 2024, members of the interdisciplinary project "ViLeArn_more", funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, organized a collaborative, interdisciplinary project day at the Media Education and Educational Technology Lab (MEET@JMU) at the University of Würzburg. The event involved pre-service teachers from selected seminars of the module "Areas of School Pedagogy in Advanced Form" and focused on the social virtual classroom “ViLeArn”.
