Application
Application start date:
- January 25th. The application takes place online.
Application deadline:
- July 15, 2024
Required documents:
- Transcript of records (in the case of deferred admission with grade point average confirmed by the university for the grades achieved to date)
- Diploma Supplement (if available, otherwise deferred admission)
Direct admission
For direct admission to the Master in Educational Science you need:
- A Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS) in education or a comparable field of study.
- Proof of basic pedagogical knowledge of at least 40 ECTS credits in the following areas
1) Fundamentals of educational theory (at least 5 ECTS credits)
2) Advanced educational theory (at least 5 ECTS credits)
3) Historical pedagogy (min. 5 ECTS credits)
4) Empirical Research Methods and Empirical Educational Research (min. 10 ECTS)
- An overall grade point average of at least 2.5 or a grade point average of at least 2.5 in the basic pedagogical knowledge listed above
Deferred admission
In order to enable an uninterrupted transition from the Bachelor's to the Master's program, a deferred admission to the Master's program is possible under the following conditions:
- Proof of a total of at least 150 ECTS credits at the time of application in the first degree program
- Proof of basic pedagogical knowledge of at least 40 ECTS credits from the following areas
1) Fundamentals of educational theory (at least 5 ECTS credits)
2) Advanced educational theory (at least 5 ECTS credits)
3) Historical pedagogy (min. 5 ECTS credits)
4) Empirical Research Methods and Empirical Educational Research (min. 10 ECTS)
- An overall grade point average of at least 2.5 or a grade point average of at least 2.5 in the basic pedagogical skills listed above.
Full completion of the first degree must be demonstrated no later than the re-registration deadline for the third semester of study in the Master's program in Educational Science.
